Safety and Availability
HIMA PES are designed both for safety-related applications up to
SIL 3 (definition according to IEC 61508) and for high
availability. Depending on the required safety and availability,
HIMA PES can be supplied as one-channel or two-channel (redundant)
devices with the same modules in the central device as well as in
the input/output level. Redundant modules increase the
availability, as in case of an error in a safety-related module
this is automatically switched off while the redundant module
continues the operation.
